Rhinoplasty: Reasons to Have the Procedure

 

Rhinoplasty surgery is also known as cosmetic nose correction surgery, which is essentially a plastic surgery technique for reshaping and changing the shape of the nose. Nowadays, two types of surgery are used in rhinoplasty: reconstructive and cosmetic.  A pastic rhinoplasty will help patients who have suffered trauma or nasal fractures that have caused their noses to look out of place. The closed technique is performed under anesthesia.  A small incision is made over the nostril and a vertical line is carved along the septum. This line is cut so that the nasal bones will be exposed and a horizontal slit is made to perform the surgery. Both procedures must be performed under local anesthetic in order to reduce any discomfort and ensure that the surgery will be successful. Once both techniques have been performed on the patient should expect some swelling and possible bruising but these should decrease with time.
